Job Descriptions

Business Development

The purpose for the Business Development Representative is to produce and support efforts to develop opportunities for Team Austin as a whole, specifically the business of sponsorships. Representatives are to seek out and make connections with organizations/individuals in the community that are looking to support Team Austin through donations of money for events, materials for events/organizational needs, membership benefits and/or space for events/meetings/parties. Representatives are responsible for securing and maintaining relationships with sponsors and providing important feedback on their wants/needs and ways to add benefits to continued sponsorships.

Duties Include:

  • 4-6 hours of research and outreach to potential sponsors a week;
  • Pass off 2 qualified opportunities to sponsorship per month;
  • Coordinate with board of directors on upcoming events for specific sponsorship needs;
  • Experience in Salesforce is a plus (not required);

Email Marketing Manager

The email marketing specialist is primarily responsible for creating and managing the written copy for our Meetup Events, Eventbrite Events, and email marketing campaigns. The email marketing specialist will work closely with the Events Director, Event Programming Coordinator, and Memberships Director to develop strategy around the copy for all events and membership driven events.

Duties Include:

  • Manage various email campaigns, including subject lines, call-to-action, content and implementation
  • Measure campaign results and optimize future campaigns
  • A/B & Multivariate optimization
  • Minimize list decay & unsubscribe(s) while increasing the productivity of email sends
  • Refine & optimize automated push marketing campaigns for new users & existing users.
  • Segment users based on behavioral data
  • communicating with Programming Directors and event Chairs to push events live in a timely manner.
  • assisting the Web Content Director on larger event projects;
  • working with the Membership Director and the Secretary to create and maintain up-to-date and secure email lists of members, the Board of Directors and event-specific e-lists;
  • reviewing communications materials with particular attention to logo usage and standards, and proofreading copy for accuracy and clarity;
  • disseminating email updates regarding upcoming events and activities, and other significant information;
  • Experience with marketing automation: drip campaigns, email triggers, personalization, transactional emails, & dynamic content
  • Diverse technical chops: HTML, CSS, table-based layouts & mobile responsive coding experience IS A MUST

Creative Design Manager

The Creative Design Manager is primarily responsible for designing and creating assets for special events, sponsorship collateral, email marketing campaigns, and new pages for the website. The Creative Design Manager reports directly to the Marketing Director for special assignments but assists the rest of the board with design needs.

Duties include:

  • designing all communications and materials related to their assigned events, including graphics for event registration, directional signage, social media and emails

Event Logistics Coordinator

The Event Logistics Coordinator helps to find venues for the events as well as food and beverage sponsors.

Duties Include:

  • Speaking with local venues and securing locations for each month’s event
  • scouts potential event locations
  • secures venues for each event date;
  • negotiating venue contracts;
  • helps with day of event coordination
  • manages volunteers
  • finds food and beverage sponsors
  • helps operate the registration process with the membership team;

Events Volunteer Coordinator

The purpose for the Volunteer Coordinator is to organize efforts to recruit, coordinate and thank volunteers. Volunteers are recognized each spring for their services. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for ensuring volunteers receive their recognition and meet as a group at least once annually.

Duties include:

  • composing written communication via the Organization website, e-newsletter or email campaign to let potential volunteers know what’s planned and how they can help;
  • maintaining the volunteers channel on Slack;
  • contacting new members to get them involved;
  • coordinating and planning volunteer recruitment events, such as a volunteer informational lunch;
  • working directly with the Event Programming Director and other board members to identify volunteer needs.

Membership Volunteer Coordinator

The Membership Volunteer Coordinator will assist the Membership Director with volunteer needs for events or membership based activities.

Duties include:
